well, i love the careless look that 'emo' hair has. my mom would freak out it i got my hair cut short; and it would look horrible 'cause my hair is really thick. i always need it layerd. how to i keep the side-bangs look without making one side poofy and the other unusually small? pictures would be great of people with medium hair length and the side-bangs as well as that choppy look; cause i don't really know how to do it.

first of all u need the hair cut and even if u have thick hair i will work because theyll cut ur hair with a razor and that will lessen the appearance of thick hair and puffiness.....and u can use a hair wax,cement,or cream to get that choppy look...get some hairstyle pics and show them to ur stylish and have him/her tell u how to style the hair
make sure they cut the hair with a razor not scissors

TRUST ME. I tried doing eveything with my normal layered hair and it just didn't look as great as what it looks like now.
Ask for choppy layers, but keep the length.
It'll look really great since you have thick hair, it will be easier to add extra volume to it.
