Suggestions on emo hair?

Ive been styling my hair toward a more emo side for a while now, and i have just been looking for suggestions on what else i should do differently?

I was thinking of growing it out more after getting the back cut, and getting more layers cut into it, and maybe dying it, wasnt sure of dye yet though

Looks pretty lame at the mo, I'd say rather than trying to copy the emo horde and being a sheep why don't you look for something a bit more personal, something that looks good for you, and if you want colour pick it based on what looks good rather than what will stand out most.

If you just want shock value like most emos then style doesn't matter, just darken, add a red or blonde stripe and join the other thoughtless kids. If you actually want to be an individual then check out the hair style books at a salon and talk to a professional about what you'd like to achieve.
