I want to have emo hair, cause its fricken awsome. Im not emo, im far from it, and im not trying to be. I have very thin blonde hair, and im a guy.
I want emo hair, but....?
Ye i wanted the same as you dude!
soooo i just left the fringe long and have the back cut away very short. If you pull the fringe over one side of your face it looks cool!

Well, go for it. If you want emo hair that shouldn't be a problem, but be prepared if people start judging you.
I want emo hair, but....?
it's alright, i know someone that isn't emo and he has emo hair.

Make it clear to people, that if you are questioned about it that you are not emo. Then go ahead and get your "emo hair".

"emo" hair is really hard to manage. in my opinion, it looks tacky, but if you like it: go for it. if your hair is already thin, i don't suggest using too many products in your hair. it can do more damage if the hair is naturally thin.

What's the but....? If you want it, and you don't mind people suspecting you are emo, go get it. It's your hair -- not theirs.

I love and have emo hair too and I am not emo at all. It just looks cool :) Just color it and cut it so the front is longer than the rest, then side sweep it.

It looks so stupid. Don't do it.

Emo hair isn't really about the cut of the hair, it's about the way it's styled and coloured.
Emo hair originates from Manga styles (japanese cartoons) and usually still attributes as a long sweeping side fringe (though not always required.)
Emo hair can be about being yourselves, the aim is to just do what you think looks good on you!
I found a website for you full of examples:

When it comes to dye, just think about the colours that suit you best and that you wouldn't mind having in your hair, pink, red, black and blonde streaks and the most popular colours.
Style:
1. Wash and condition
2. towel dry
3. Use styling mouse or gel to brush backwards
4. Style around your face, have spiky bits at the back if you want.
Finish off with a cute DIY accessory, bow or necklace, such as something from LoveBites and Bruises: http://www.lovebitesandbruises.com
This will show a flair of originality that scenesters try to go for to make them stand out and be original.
Best of luck with it! :)
